Shivangi Priya

Dr. Shivangi Priya is a Research Associate at CIIL, currently working on a project that involves developing multilingual content for Early Childhood Education following the recommendations of NEP 2020. She works primarily in the area of sociolinguistics and related fields, having earned her doctoral degree in it with a focus on language policy and planning. An Alumnus of BITS Pilani and the Patna Womens College, Dr. Shivangi is a Fulbrighter, having served at the University of Utah, USA. Prior to and complimentary to this, she holds a Master’s degree in English literature and has received initial training as a research fellow in a UGC Major project on English language teaching. She is interested in teaching English as well as developing digital methods of teaching other Indian languages with a focus on linguistics and applied linguistics, including development of applications therein. Shivangi has played a pivotal role in developing the TranKit application, starting from conceptualizing and engaging in developing the platform to work on the first project of hers invloving 28 Indian languages.
